Maybe I Have a New Dog!

Happy Friday everyone! It’s also the first day of fall, it’s a wet and dreary one here in Michigan but I love this season nonetheless. Can’t wait till the leaves turn and everything is scenic and beautiful.

It’s been kind of a busy week for me because we are adopting a new friend for Phyllis!! It’s something I’ve been considering for a couple of years and one morning I got out of bed and had this feeling that it was really time to do it. I saw there was an adoption event going on that day and as soon as I stepped in the door, there was the most adorable cutie pie waiting for me : ) At least he seemed happy to see me! His name is Ziggy and they think he’s a Lab/Beagle mix. I thought he was a puppy at first b/c of his size but he’s actually a year and a half old. He weighs about 35-40 pounds which is the perfect size for Phyllis…she loves to play with smaller dogs for some reason. The guy who is fostering him brought him over last weekend to meet Phyllis and they seemed ok but didn’t really play…however both dogs were exhausted from earlier activities so it was hard to get a good read on them. I could tell they liked each other though and would probably play when they weren’t so tired. So we arranged to keep him for a few nights, at the very least, to see if this was a good fit for our little family. Phyllis is 7 and has always been an only dog but she adores other dogs and loves to play. She’s also not jealous at all and extremely laid back, she doesn’t care who plays with her toys, sleeps in her bed, or any of that other stuff that can be a problem with animals. Some of you know that I used to be a dog walker and a pet sitter so she’s always been used to having other dogs around.

Ziggy got here yesterday and they started playing immediately! And for hours! Last night was a bit rough, it was hard for him to settle down and we didn’t get to sleep until 3am which is waaayy past my bedtime. But today has been great so far, they have been playing inside and outside and now they are napping side by side on the couch in my office : ) I still can’t say 100% that we will adopt him but it’s looking pretty good right now! He’s so sweet and I am almost in love…OK I already am!

Other than that, I had a bit of the stomach flu this week but it seems to be gone now. Never fun. Or maybe I’m eating too much tofu…LOL!

I’ll keep you posted on the pup, have a great weekend everyone! Here’s a hot pic from this week’s new photo set!

From the Heart

Happy Hump Day peeps! I don’t know why but I love saying hump day!

This week has been a week of reflecting and thinking for me. As we all know, it was the 10th anniversary of 9/11. Like so many people, I can’t believe it’s been that long. In a way, it seems like only yesterday. 9/11/01 was an odd day for me because I was probably one of the last people to know about it! I was living in L.A. at the time and had been up until about 4 or 5am the night before, I was a night owl back then. So I slept until about 1 or 2pm PST, which means it was 4 or 5pm EST…the entire day had gone by and I wasn’t awake to learn of the terrible tragedy that had unfolded. I remember my phone ringing a bunch of times and I was annoyed and just went back to sleep. Those calls were people calling to tell me what happened and make sure that I was alright. Also, I didn’t have TV at the time so I could only find out information online and by speaking to people who had seen everything on the news. I didn’t see any 9/11 footage until years later, I couldn’t bring myself to watch it. I felt very disconnected from the world and it was strange to think that I had slept through everything. At that time, I had only been in L.A. for about 7 months and was having a difficult time adjusting to living so far away from my friends and family back in Michigan. I was already battling some depression and I believe that 9/11 the beginning of a very dark time for me. Shortly after, I became severely depressed and had a tough time even leaving my apartment. I also began to not eat properly and indulge in all kinds of self destructive behaviors. I was having panic attacks one right after the other and I had lost 30+ pounds by only eating 500-800 calories per day. Eventually, I got some help and turned everything around…I am a very strong and resilient woman! But sometimes I wonder if 9/11 had never happened if I still would have fallen down that deep dark hole.

I’ve also been thinking quite a bit about a good friend of mine whom I am sure many of you know…Taylor Stevens. She was diagnosed with lymphoma on Christmas Eve in 2010 and is currently undergoing radiation treatment, after going through chemo. September is Lymphoma Awareness Month and I want to take the time to share with you how special of a person she is. I first met Taylor at Exxxotica Miami, we had tweeted back and forth before and I thought she seemed very nice but you just never know with all the crazy girls in the business how someone is really going to be in person. She came over to our booth to say hi to Sara Jay and I waved her down…her face lit up and she ran over to give me a huge hug. Within seconds, I knew she was sweet and full of life. We immediate began to make plans to do Glamourcon Chicago together that summer and I felt as if I’d known her for years. That doesn’t happen to me very often.

So we did the Chicago show together and had a blast! She always kept me going with her high energy : ) We got to spend some time out drinking and having fun and it was so refreshing to meet a girl in the industry that wasn’t crazy or full of bullshit.

Then we decided to do Adultcon L.A. along with Brianna Jordan. Brianna and Taylor had never met but I had a hunch that they would hit it off…and I was right! Being around Taylor made the show so much more fun and I loved the energy that the three of us had going. We called ourselves the Big Titty Committee..along with Jelena Jensen : ) Perfect title if you ask me!

Even though she’s been fighting for her life, Taylor hasn’t let that stop her from living and showing her fans how appreciative she is of their support. Her positive attitude is something that we can and should learn from. Visit her blog and see what I mean!

Life is precious. You never know what will come your way so life should be lived to the fullest. Appreciate each and every day. And tell people that you love them. Tay, love you girl!! Thanks for being an inspiration to so many!

Go Tigers!!

Hey everyone! I’m back from my little getaway and it was fabulously relaxing : ) I did a whole lot of nothing. The weather wasn’t the best and I didn’t even mind, I read two books and took naps. There was a couple of great sunny days to take the boat out but it also rained, which I actually like sometimes. It’s an excuse to cuddle up on the couch and be lazy because what else are you going to do on a rainy day at a lake house? Not to say that I sat around the entire time. We went for long walks with Phyllis, went shopping, out to dinners, and to see an old car show which was pretty sweet. I’m not a car person but it was cool to see the classic cars in all their glory.

The best part about the weekend was the Tiger game on Sunday night! We had front row tickets in the right field and those are my favorite seats to sit in at Comerica Park. Partly because Magglio Ordonez is one of my favorite players and I like to see him up close : ) I absolutely love going to baseball games, there’s something intoxicating about seeing all of the fans in their Tiger gear and enjoying what’s taking place on the field. Especially since the Tigers are hot this season! They beat the White Soxs 18-2! It was crazy to see all of those runs! The place was going nuts and the energy was amazing! I also consumed lots of beer and was more than a little tipsy at the end of the night. Ha! Those of you who follow me on Twitter know what I’m talking about. I hope they make it to the play offs, which I think they will, and I would love to go to a play off game. I went to one for the Red Wings a couple of years ago for the Stanley Cup and it was the most exciting game I’ve ever seen.

Anyway, trying to get back into my routine after a week off…it’s tough. I almost skipped bootcamp this morning out of sheer laziness but I forced myself to go, even though I was 5 minutes late and I hate walking into a class that’s already in progress. The weather is definitely a sign that fall is here, it’s been in the 60s and cloudy…right now it’s ┬áraining and I so want to crawl in bed with a good book but have lots to catch up on today.

Come play with me later on Streamate! I’m doing a live show at 8PM ESt and website members can view for free! I do a weekly live show for my members to see for free, others can pay per minute to watch as well. or

Love you! Talk soon! Enjoy the week!
